Review / Resenha - The Hobbit

Take a look at the review!

The Hobbit
Bilbo Baggins is a Hobbit who lives a comfortable life with no ambitions, seldom adventuring himself beyond his larder or his cellar. But his enjoyment is disturbed when Geldalf, the wizard, and a dwarfs group knock at his door and take him to an expedition. They have got a plan for stealing the treasure kept by Smaug, the magnificent, a big and dangerous dragon.
Bilbo tries to avoid joining the adventure, but finishes surprising even himself for his own smartness and his skills as a thief.

Written to Tolkien's children, The Hobbit conquered a quick succes when it was published in 1937. It sold millions of copies all over the world and established itself as one of the most influent books of our generation.

Sonnet of Fidelity
Vinicius de Moraes

Above all, to my love I’ll be attentive
First and always, with care and so much
That even when facing the greatest enchantment
By love be more enchanted my thoughts.

I want to live it through in each vain moment
And in its honor I’ll spread my song
And laugh my laughter and cry my tears
When you are sad or when you are content

And thus, when later comes looking for me
Who knows, the death, anxiety of the living
Who knows, the loneliness, end of all lovers

I’ll be able to say to myself of the love (I had):
But be infinite while it lasts.

E rir meu riso e derramar meu pranto
Ao seu pesar ou seu contentamento

E assim, quanto mais tarde me procure
Quem sabe a morte, angústia de quem vive
Quem sabe a solidão, fim de quem ama

Eu possa me dizer do amor (que tive):
Que não seja imortal, posto que é chama
Mas que seja infinito enquanto dure.

Poem / Poema - Building a nest

Hello pupils!
Trago hoje a vocês um poema traduzido.

Enjoy it!

Building a nest

 I saw my backyard sparrow
build up its nest
out of scattered weeds.

O gardener of the instinct,
(O master of the winds)
I sing your tunes
I play your deeds –
I dance to thee,

I am thy nestling,
tend gently
to my poetry.

Fernando Campanella

Construindo o ninho
Eu vi um pardal
com ervas esparsas
a construir seu ninho.

Oh, jardineiro do instinto
(oh, mestre dos ventos)
eu toco vossos tons,
eu canto vossos atos -
eu danço a vós -

sou vossa cria,
velai gentilmente
por minha poesia.
