Route 66 or Mother Road was for a long time the main road in The United States. The point of creating the Route was cross the whole country, to unite the outlying places, conducing progress to the west region. It was the first transcontinental highway of the United States, it starts in Chicago, passing through Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and ends up in Los Angeles, California. It was created in 1926, with the slogan “Go west!”. It became famous when thousands of people went to the “gold land” in California, in 1930.
Beyond the economic importance of the Route 66 it is also a great symbol of the American culture, it has been well explored, mainly by the cinema. The legend is more alive than never.
